The 2005 Hawai`i Sociological Association Conference
The 26th Annual Meeting of the Hawai`i Sociological Association (HSA) was held February 12, 2005 at the Ala Moana Hotel. The conference theme was "The Sociological Imagination in the 21st Century," with two well-known speakers, Dr. Edna Bonacich of UC Riverside and the American Sociological Association President, Troy Duster of UC-Berkeley and NYU.
The meeting was presided over by reigning HSA President Rick Baldoz of UH Manoa Sociology, and a number of our graduate students presented papers at the conference. Michael Weinstein, also of UH Manoa Sociology, was chosen as the HSA president for the incoming year.
